The Chip Is the Real Headline

After several generations recycling the same silicon, the Series 12 looks likely to finally get a genuine chip upgrade. Leaked internal code reportedly points to a new system-in-package replacing the aging S10 line. That matters beyond raw speed — it’s also expected to better support the more capable Siri and on-device AI features coming with watchOS 27.

Health Features to Watch

Last year’s Series 11 made its name with FDA-cleared hypertension notifications, and that pattern looks set to repeat. Reports point to another blood-pressure-related feature currently working through regulatory review, though it’s still unclear whether it needs new hardware or arrives as a software update. There’s also talk of an expanded sensor array for improved health metrics, though that one carries lower confidence.

Blood glucose tracking is reportedly not happening this year — that one’s still in development for a future model.
