Amazfit Helio Strap 2: Release Date, FCC Filing and What We Know

The next-generation Amazfit Helio Strap has surfaced in regulatory filings, giving the clearest signal yet that a successor is on the way. Here's what's confirmed, what's speculation, and what to watch for next.

What the FCC filing reveals

A new Zepp Health FCC filing revealed an Amazfit "Smart sensor" listed under model number A2671, along with a second variant, A2672. The filing does not confirm the retail name, but the hardware footprint and the company's prior roadmap statements strongly point to this being the next Helio Strap or Helio Core hardware.

The documents describe the device as a Smart sensor rather than a smartwatch, using Bluetooth Low Energy in the 2.4GHz band, with no sign of GPS, Wi-Fi, LTE or NFC. The external drawing shows a small rectangular module with rounded corners, a large circular sensor area on the back, and two charging contacts below it.

What's likely to change (and what isn't)

The FCC filing lists the battery capacity at 230 mAh — nearly identical to the current Helio Core. That means any battery-life gains will likely come from sensor and radio efficiency improvements rather than a bigger cell. The core form factor isn't expected to change significantly; the most plausible hardware tweak is an easier strap-swapping mechanism, along with possibly more accurate non-heart-rate sensors like a better accelerometer.

Don't expect ECG, AFib detection or blood pressure monitoring — those require electrical sensors, patented algorithms and medical accreditation that don't typically arrive on a budget strap.

When might it launch?

Zepp Health hasn't announced an official release date, but the FCC confidentiality window points to an August–November 2026 launch period. Zepp Health requested that external photos, internal photos and the user manual stay hidden until the device is marketed, or for 180 days from the FCC grant date — whichever comes first.

The Helio Strap 2 is widely expected to position itself as a budget-friendly rival to Google's Fitbit Air.
