Design and comfort

Circular has always led on looks, and the Ring 3 Pro doubles down. The titanium shell is slimmer than the Ring 2 and comes in finishes that read as jewellery rather than gadget. It is comfortable enough to forget overnight — which is the single most important test for a sleep tracker — and the sizing range now covers more fingers than before.

The standout hardware trick is haptics: the ring vibrates for a smart alarm, AFib notifications and reminders. No other mainstream ring does this, and the gentle wake buzz alone is a genuine quality-of-life upgrade over a blaring phone alarm.

Health tracking

The big addition is ECG with AFib detection, bringing Circular into territory Oura doesn't cover. Alongside it you get continuous heart rate, HRV, SpO2, skin temperature and respiratory rate, plus circular's Kira assistant that turns the raw data into daily nudges. Readiness and energy scores were stable and believable across our two weeks of testing.

One honest caveat: like all optical rings, it reports blood-pressure trends, not measured blood pressure. If a clinician has asked you to track BP properly, pair your tracking with a cuff-based device such as the Huawei Watch D3.

Sleep and recovery

Sleep staging — light, deep, REM and awake — tracked consistently against our reference devices, and the overnight temperature and HRV trends lined up with how we actually felt. The haptic smart alarm wakes you in a light phase within a window you set, and it works.

Battery life

Circular claims up to 8 days; with ECG spot checks and the haptic alarm enabled we landed between 6 and 7. That puts it level with Oura Ring 5 territory and well ahead of any smartwatch. The charging puck tops it up in under an hour.

Circular Ring 3 Pro vs Oura Ring 5

Oura still has the more refined sleep and readiness models and the larger app ecosystem, but it charges a monthly membership and has no ECG or haptics. The Circular Ring 3 Pro bundles every feature into the purchase price, adds ECG with AFib detection, and buzzes on your finger for alarms. For most buyers the decision comes down to whether you value Oura's software polish more than Circular's subscription-free hardware. Our Circular Ring 3 Pro vs Oura Ring 5 comparison goes through it spec by spec, and the Huawei Watch D3 vs Oura Ring 5 piece covers the blood-pressure angle.

Verdict

The Circular Ring 3 Pro is the most complete ring Circular has made: genuinely stylish, subscription-free, and the only ring in this class with haptics and ECG together. If Oura's membership fee has ever put you off, this is the ring to shortlist first.
